Maranatha, we thank God for sparing our lives to see yet another year. As I look back over previous years this Psalm comes to mind, "Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me. Psalms" 42:7
I have heard the testimonies of many attesting to hearing the voice of the Lord speaking to them. Some through a scripture verse that just jumps off the page, a billboard sign suddenly gave some spiritual insight, an impression in their spirit from the Holy Ghost, a message from the pulpit, a vision in the midnight hour or an audible voice. Whatever the case is, it is a known fact that God does speak to us in different ways. Scripture tells us that Moses experienced the burning bush voice, Balaam had a conversation with his ass and Samuel heard God calling him out of his sleep.
The psalmist was no different; there was a situation in his life that had him in derision. With phrases such as my soul thirsts for God; my tears have been my food; I pour out my soul within me, and why are you cast down, O my soul showed the extent of his sorrows. Most of us would attribute these circumstances to the devil and we would spend days rebuking and pleading the blood. He on the other hand recognized that the voice of God (deep) was calling out to his heart (deep).
